On June 3, 2026, at the SNEC exhibition, global energy storage leader HiTHIUM introduced a major innovation: the world's first native 8-hour long-duration energy storage (LDES) system. Named the ∞Power 6.9MWh energy storage system (ESS), it was launched alongside the new ∞Cell 650Ah high-capacity battery and the ∞Power 10+MWh product solution.
As renewable energy grows globally, storage needs are shifting from 2-3 hours to 4-8 hours. LDES is becoming essential for integrating renewables, ensuring grid stability, and supporting modern power systems. To meet the demand for cost-effective, safe, and reliable large-scale storage, HiTHIUM has developed a complete technology ecosystem—from specialized battery cells to integrated ESS platforms—backed by its strengths in cost efficiency, service, and safety.
Designed for 8 Hours: Redefining LDES Value
At the event, HiTHIUM's technical team shared insights on LDES trends and product innovations. In a keynote speech titled "Long-Duration Powering, Green Energy Enduring," Product Director Ye Zi noted that with more renewables, extreme weather, and grid pressures, LDES is fast becoming a key part of power system infrastructure.
∞Power 6.9MWh – Built around the world’s first 1300Ah battery cell made specifically for LDES, this system delivers stable 8-hour discharge from a standard 20-foot container, with a design life of 25 years. It supports flexible layouts to save space and cost, uses eco-friendly low-GWP coolant, and features multi-layer safety protection from the cell level to intelligent BMS management.
New ∞Cell 650Ah Makes Its Global Debut
HiTHIUM also unveiled the ∞Cell 650Ah large-capacity battery and the ∞Power 10+MWh solution. These additions enhance the company’s portfolio, offering higher energy density and better system integration for improved project returns and more application options worldwide.
Beyond these highlights, HiTHIUM showcased a full range of products including the ∞Cell 1300Ah, 1175Ah, and 587Ah cells; the ∞Power 6.25MWh 2–4h ESS; sodium-ion solutions like the ∞Cell N162Ah and ∞Power N2.28MWh 1h ESS; commercial and industrial cabinets (∞Block 261kWh/418kWh); and residential systems such as the HeroEE MaxPower 8 AIO and HeroEE16.
Expanding in Southeast Asia: 1GWh Deal in Vietnam
During SNEC 2026, HiTHIUM signed a three-year, 1GWh strategic agreement with DSS Solar for Vietnam’s residential, commercial, and industrial storage markets. The partnership combines HiTHIUM’s advanced products and supply chain with DSS Solar’s local expertise to accelerate projects and support Vietnam’s green energy transition.
